Test your reading pace
Setup guide
Connect the TV. Plug the HDMI cable in, then set your laptop display to Extend (not Mirror) so the TV acts as a second screen.
Open the slide display. Click "Open slide display" — a new window appears. Drag its title bar onto the TV screen, then press F11 (or your browser's fullscreen button) on that window.
Add slide images. Click "Upload PowerPoint (.pptx)" to pull the picture from each slide automatically, or click any box in "Slides for the TV" to add one by hand — one per [slide] tag in your script. PowerPoint slides that are just text (no picture) won't have anything to grab automatically, so add those manually.
Voice cues (optional). Flip the "Voice cues" switch on and allow microphone access. Glide will listen as you read and nudge slides forward at the right moment — needs Chrome or Edge and an internet connection. If it can't listen, it quietly falls back to the pace timer below, so nothing breaks.
Set the pace. Use "Test my pace" to read the sample line aloud once, or leave the slider where it is — this is also what keeps things moving if voice cues ever miss a beat.
Roll camera, then press Play (or Space). A 3‑2‑1 countdown gives time to get set.
If it drifts, use ← / → or the ⏮ ⏭ buttons to jump the slide back on track without stopping.
